« Yokai is a play for all ages. It draws inspiration from the world of magical beings found in many traditional cultures. Etymologically, the Japanese word ‘yokai’ refers to strange, ambiguous phenomena—or, more specifically, to creatures that are frightening or alluring, often both. In a broader sense, this word encompasses everything that seems to exist without belonging to our world: nature spirits, ghosts, monsters, familiar demons, local deities, mythical animals, memories, obsessions, and embodied fixations…
In a primitive and naive language made up of sensations and emotions, “Yôkai” is a landscape, a dreamlike architecture where slightly elusive figures appear, imbued with strangeness and wonder. »

The production of Yokaï is currently in post-production.
Grant applications pending a response: creation grant from the Toulouse City Hall, creation grant from the Occitanie-Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region, and a residency-production grant from the Espace Roguet—with support from the Department 31 Council.
Confirmed structural partnerships: support and hosting of the premiere by the Bellegarde Cultural Center in Toulouse, as well as support from Pôle 164 in Marseille and the NEUFNEUF Festival (presentation of the concept on November 21, 2026).
Partnerships pending response: studio residency at the CCN Malandain Ballet in Biarritz and Agora Cité Internationale de la Danse in Montpellier.
