« TWAMA Paradise is the meeting of two female artists with diverse and fascinating backgrounds. Holding up a distorted mirror, Héla Fattoumi plays with fantasies of twinhood by imagining a reunion with a dream sister, the dancer, actress, and choreographer Sondos Belhassen.
Two dazzling stage personalities, both shaped by the same cultural influences: pop imagery, traditional dances and costumes, and iconic film duos… Tunisia, their shared land of origin, exile, and return, is the other place where they project their dreams. TWAMA (twin in Arabic) thus also echoes Héla Fattoumi’s two previous solo works connected to her native country, WASLA (1998) and MANTA (2009). »
